As an agency, we have defined how we use AI responsibly, ensuring that any use strengthens the quality of our services while protecting the confidentiality and integrity our clients expect.

H&B has defined its use of AI in line with our core mission and convictions. Our team helps our clients build international influence by creating intelligent content. We are led by ideas—and those ideas are inherently human, rooted in our in-depth knowledge of each client and its leaders’ ambitions for the business’s future direction. Our team members are encouraged to apply strong critical judgment in all interactions with AI.

We use AI only insofar as it advances our values of excellence, growth, respect and trust.

Excellence

H&B is committed to delivering excellent service and content backed by sharp insights. We aim to become experts in our clients’ businesses and see AI as an accelerator to help us achieve this. It enables us to conduct broad and in-depth research on topics related to our clients’ businesses and surface insights faster.

We appreciate the potential of AI tools to support our teams in delivering excellent client service through assistance with administrative tasks and project tracking. We do not, however, believe that current generative AI models offer the editorial quality our clients expect, and so have chosen not to use them for writing or visual production.

Growth

AI supports each team member’s professional development by accelerating knowledge acquisition. It enables employees to get up to speed on clients’ accounts faster than would previously have been possible and deliver their best work.

H&B aims to build a culture of continuous learning that enables employees to flourish in their future careers. Recognizing that AI skills will be essential in the evolving workplace, we encourage employees to stay up to date with AI advances and develop their skills.

Respect and trust

Our clients entrust us with highly sensitive information; in turn, they need to be certain that this data remains secure. For this reason, H&B’s approach prioritizes client data security and privacy above convenience or other potential benefits of AI tools. Any new use of AI is vetted against this standard.

H&B communicates openly about any use of AI. Clients retain the right to stipulate that AI not be used in any work pertaining to their business.

How we monitor compliance with our AI Charter

All H&B employees sign our AI Charter, which sets out our approach, permitted and non-permitted uses, core principles and governance and is regularly reviewed and reissued. Employees also undergo training to ensure that all AI use is in line with the Charter.
